Guilt

Matthew 15:17-20 (NIV)
¹⁷ "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body?
¹⁸ But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.'
¹⁹ For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
²⁰ These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.'"

Things that hide in that.

Guilt.  When guilt is allowed to stay in the heart, walls start to be built around that keep others out.  We don’t want others to get too close because they might find out our secret.  We will seem distant and distracted.  We might over react when someone else shares their weakness.   We don’t really want to live like that but until we come to the place of confession.  Sin, guilt and shame only have one place to exit--- out of the mouth.  AAAhhh it feels so good to be clean!
