Statement of Faith
1.God-We believe that there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). God has revealed Himself in three distinct persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26, Matthew 28:18-20).
2. Jesus Christ-We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 3:16). He was conceived of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35) and born of the Virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14). Jesus Christ is fully God (John 1:1, 14).
3. The Bible-We believe that the scriptures are inspired (2 Timothy 3:16). The Bible faithfully represents God’s revelation to mankind. They are the infallible standard by which all men are required to live and by which all men will be judged (John 12:47-48).
4. Salvation-There is salvation through faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). Through disobedience to God’s Word, man became depraved. Through the blood atonement of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, reconciliation to God was made available (Romans 5:6-10, 17). The evidence of man’s salvation is a changed life having good deeds. (James 2:18).
5. Holy Spirit- We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:39). The apostolic and patristic writings document the continual presence and activity of the Holy Spirit throughout church history.
The manifestation (1 Corinthians 12), motivation (Romans 12), and ministry (Ephesians 4) gifts of the Spirit are essential to the church’s successful completion of its mission - to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).
6. Return of Christ and Final Judgment- (often termed Rapture) (Acts 17:30-31). At the return of Jesus Christ, there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked to appear at His judgment seat (John 5:28-29). The redeemed will enter heaven for eternity and those rejecting Christ will be cast into hell to be tormented for eternity.
